St. Francis Athletics

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ---In the final regular season conference matchup, the St. Francis College women’s tennis fell prey to the Monmouth Hawks, 6-1, in West Long Branch on April 13th.

The lone victory for St. Francis came off the racket of freshman Arianna VanSlutyman (Hollis, NY/Phillips Academy), who defeated Monmouth’s Sarah Ragan 6-3; 6-1 in the number one Singles slot.

The Terriers were very competitive in # 1 Doubles, as the tandem of VanSlutyman and Colene Alexis (Brooklyn, NY/Open Bible HS) gave the Hawks’ duet of Ragan and Kaitlin Gallagher all they could handle, before falling 8-4.

St. Francis will have at least one more match. On April 17th they will be part of the Northeast Conference tournament as the # 10 seed Terriers will square off against the # 7 seeded St. Francis (PA) Red Flash at 9:00 am in West Windsor, NJ.
