TERRIERS SHUT-OUT ACROSS THE BRIDGE; FALL TO SEAHAWKS 7-0

STATEN ISLAND, NEW YORK---The St. Francis College women's tennis team were blanked by the Wagner Seahawks, 7-0, on April 8th. 

In singles’ action, Wagner's Brittany Frazza bested Arianna Van Sluytman at No. 1 singles 6-3, 6-3. At No. 2 singles, Emily Boyd picked up her first win of the year 6-3, 6-2 over Colene Alexis at No. 2 singles.  Britta Olsen defeated Shakaya Slay to the tune of 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. Junior Valerie LeCureux was perfect at No. 4 singles, besting Renee Warner 6-0 and 3-0 before the latter retired. At the five spot, Svetlana Chirokikh collected her first collegiate win against Angel Lawrence 6-4, 6-0. Rounding out singles play, sophomore Joanna Ciavarella blanked Ashley Delorbe 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.

In doubles play, the tandem of Frazza and Boyd won at 8-1 at No. 1 doubles. LeCureux and Ciavarella combined for the 8-4 victory at No. 2 doubles before Olsen and Chirokikh won via an 8-0 shutout at No. 3 doubles, concluding the Wagner sweep.
