TERRIERS' PLACE TENTH AT QUINNIPIAC INVITE!

HAMDEN, CONNECTICUT--- The St. Francis College women’s cross country team finished tenth at the 2009 Quinnipiac University Invitational with 246 points. Junior Atoya Webb (Queens, NY/Jamaica HS) finished in 39th place, finishing with a time of 20:03.5. The host Quinnipiac University took home team honors, finishing with 19 points. Sacred Heart and Monmouth each finished second and third, respectively.
 
Quinnipiac freshman Becca White finished first on the 5K Quinnipiac Cross Country Course. Her time of 17L58 was the only one to break the 18-minute mark during the day. 
 
Other times from today’s 5K run include freshman Mary Gallagher (Brooklyn, NY/Bishop Kearney) continues to improve as she finished with a time of 20:33.6, and in 54th place. Junior Alexandra De La Cruz placed 64th with a time of 21:02.7 and senior Jeannette Dobosz (Brooklyn, NY/Marin Luther) ran to a 68th place finish, with a time of 21:08.1.
 
The Quinnipiac Cross Country Course will be the location of this year’s 2009 Northeast Conference Championships on Saturday October 31st.
 
The Terriers return to action on September 26th as they gear up for the Fairfield Invite, hosted by Fairfield University.
