BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NEW YORK---The St. Francis College women’s basketball team fell to the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights, 65-44, on Saturday afternoon at the Pope Physical Education Center. The Terriers stand at 2-25 on the year, 1-15 in the NEC while the Knights are 9-18 overall and 5-11 in conference play. 
 
Terriers' freshman forward Autumn Lau paved the way with 19 points which included four three-pointers. The Knights Mariyah Laury led all scorers with 20 points. Alyssa Mayrose chipped in 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting while Jenna Strich contributed 15 points and a team-high six rebounds in the victory. 
 
The Knights connected on the contests first eleven points after  Mayrose’s three-pointer at the 16:40 mark in the first half. Both teams were at a stalemate over a six and a half minute stretch, but the Knights still held a 20-9 advantage with 10:02 to go in the first stanza.
 
The Terriers mounted a comeback, cutting the lead to eight but FDU scored the next six points which sparked a 16-5 run as they took their largest lead of the half, 36-17, with 1:16 to go until the intermission. The Knights entered the halftime break up 36-19.
 
St. Francis was able to knock down its first two buckets to start the second half and cut the Knight’s lead to 38-24. The Knights answered back with a Mayrose basket that started a span of 10 unanswered points. Kayla Killian’s three-point play gave the Knights a 48-24 lead with 15:08 to go in the game. 
 
St. Francis outscored the Knights, 18-12 for the remainder of the contest but the game was out of their reach. The Knights shot 47.8% from the field (22-of-46) and 45.5% from long range (5-of-11) while also shooting a staggering 84.2% from the free-throw line (16-of-19). 
 
The Terriers will conclude the 2009-10 season at the Pope Physical Education Center, starting with a February 25th contest against the Bryant Bulldogs. Tip-off is slated for 5:00 pm.
