The bowling team will be looking to capture their first ECAC Championships this weekend at Howell Lanes in Howell, New Jersey. The 14-team field will include nine squads that are currently ranked in the Top-20. The Terriers are coming off their finest performance in the history of the program. St. Francis (NY) had never been one of the top-four finishers at a large scale multi-day event that featured 20 or more teams.  Continuing what has been a watershed season for the program, the Terriers placed fourth out of 26 teams at the Morgan State Invitational last February.  The three teams to finish ahead of the Terriers -  Nebraska, Fairleigh Dickinson, and Maryland-Eastern Shore – have won five of the last six NCAA national titles.  Sitting at 55-32 overall, St. Francis (NY) now owns the third-highest overall win percentage (.632) amongst the eight Northeast Conference members.

NEC Tournament Seeding Set
The second of two Northeast Conference regular season meets is in the books and the seeds for the upcoming NEC Championship are set as a result.  A team’s win-loss record from the 14-match league schedule determines its seeding with head-to-head competition and pinfall serving as the first two tiebreakers if needed.  New Jersey City (12-2), the lone team to reached double digits in wins, owns the top seed for what will be the program’s first-ever appearance at the conference title meet.  The 2008-09 NEC regular season champion Kutztown Golden Bears (9-5) grabbed the No. 2 seed this time around.  St. Francis (NY) (8-6) is slotted third with Adelphi (8-6) fourth.  The Terriers bested AU in each of the two head-to-head meetings during league play.  If defending NEC Tournament champion Fairleigh Dickinson is to repeat, it’ll have to do so as the No. 5 seed.  The Knights (7-7) finish one spot ahead of Sacred Heart (7-7) by virtue of a greater overall pinfall compiled during the two head-to-head NEC matches.  Saint Peter’s (5-9) will be slotted seventh followed by Long Island (0-14) in eighth.
The Northeast Conference, which named bowling its 23rd sport of sponsorship in 2008, will sponsor its second annual championship meet on March 20 & 21. Move from its original three-day format down to a two-day event, the tournament will return to Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park, New Jersey for the second straight year.  Fairleigh Dickinson, currently the fourth-ranked team in America, won the inaugural NEC title when it swept past top-seeded Kutztown in last year's title match.
