LORETTO, PENNSYLVANIA---The St. Francis College women’s tennis team faltered against the St. Francis University Red Flash, 7-0 at the Ebensburg Tennis Center in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania.
The Terriers (0-6; 0-1 NEC) were able to string valiant efforts at singles # 1 and # 2. Arianna Van Sluytman took Samantha Fulchiero to three sets after dropping the first set 6-3. the Hollis, New York native took the second set 6-1 before dropping the deciding third set 6-3.
Colene Alexis took Devyn Sarver to three sets as well. After dropping the first set 6-2, the senior from Brooklyn, New York mustered her strengths to take the second 6-3, but fell in the decisive third set 6-2.
The Red Flash swept through singles # 3, 4, 5, and 6 in straight sets while also winning all three double points to ensure the victory.
The Terriers will next return to the court on April 5th against Wagner College in Staten Island for a 2:00 pm schedule start.
