THE GILHULEY BROTHERS QUALIFY FOR JUNIOR NATIONALS

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NEW YORK---For the first time in St. Francis College track & field history, a set of brothers, twins no less, will compete at Junior Nationals that will take place from June 23rd to June 27th at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. 

 

Freshman Joseph Gilhuley (Brooklyn, New York/Bishop Ford) qualified for the June event when he set a new St. Francis College outdoor record in the 1500m, surpassing teammate Rafal Ksepka’s mark set three weeks prior, finishing with a time of 3:56.54. 

 

Freshman Paul Gilhuley (Brooklyn, New York/Bishop Ford) finished second in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:37.79 at the New York Metropolitan Championships on April 19th. With that mark, the Brooklyn native set a new St. Francis College outdoor record in the event while qualifying for the June event in the steeplechase. 

 

Senior Matthew Megerdichian (Queens, New York/Archbishop Molloy) was the first to compete in the event in his freshman year in the Javelin and Hammer competitions.
