MEN'S TRACK & FIELD PLACE 7TH AT NEC OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS; 4 x 800 RELAY TEAM STRIKES GOLD

St. Francis (NY) finished seventh (57 points) at the 2010 Northeast Conference Men’s Track & Field Championships, held this past weekend at Mount St. Mary’s.
The Terriers' young 4 x 800 relay team won the gold medal with a time of 7:43.06. Sophomore Rafal Ksepka and freshman Paul and Joseph Gilhuley along with classmate Brian Nersten took home hardware.
A pair of Terriers took home silver medals in field events as senior Dean Brown (high jump, 2.01 m) and freshman Oboshioma Obemeata (triple jump, 14.36 m) continued their strong spring campaigns. Senior Matt Megerdichian took the bronze medal in the hammer (50.69 m) and also placed 6th in the javelin (57.96 m). Senior Kiechen Smith was fourth in the triple jump with an effort of 14.21 meters.
Joseph Gilhuley also added an 8th place finish in the 800 meters (1:56.54) and was 9th in the 1500 meters (4:02.34). Paul Gilhuley finished 5th in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:53.84.
Ksepka added a fourth place finish in the 1500 meters (4:00.64) and Nersten placed 10th with a time of 4:02.94 in the same event.
Senior Daquan Massey closed out his career with a 5th place finish in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 54.10.

Anisa Lila
Volleyball
Lila becomes the first Terrier volleyball player to win an NEC weekly honor since the 2000 season. She was able to record 65 kills and 51 digs as the Terriers went 2-2 at its own Terrier Invitational this past weekend.
