WILLIAMSVILLE, NEW YORK--- Sophomore bowler Kristina Terpo (Brooklyn, New York/Sheepshead Bay) captured gold and a bronze medal at the 2010 Empire States Games, held in Williamsville, New York at Transit Lanes on July 23rd.

 

Terpo teamed up with Philip Marks in the Open Division Mixed Doubles to bowl 1,587 to propel the New York City region to first place honors in the event.  Later in the afternoon, the Brooklyn, New York native took home third place accolades in the Women’s Trio as she rolled a total score of 2,308.

 

In her first season in Brooklyn Heights, Terpo was named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week on two separate occasions.  The first coming on October 28th as she earned All-Tournament Team honors at the Kutztown Fall Baker Invitational while posting the fourth-highest individual baker frame average (19.15) and helped the Terriers amass a total pinfall of 4602 over five baker games. 

 

Her second selection as Rookie of the Week came on January 27th as she posted a 19.69 frame average at the Lady Bulldogs Classic in which the Terriers won seven of nine matches.  She averaged 209.6, accounting for the highest average of any Northeast Conference bowler at the meet while going over the 200-mark four times and totaling an 88.2% filled frames percentage.
