Women's Volleyball Falls To La Salle In Four Sets

Kamalei Clifton recorded 31 assists and 11 digs in her first career start.

St. Francis (NY) dropped a four-set match against visiting La Salle on Tuesday evening at the Genovesi Center. The Terriers have now lost five straight to fall to 3-7 on the season while the Explorers improved to 6-6. St. Francis fell 25-20 in the opening set but tied the match with a thrilling 28-26 victory in game two. The Explorers won game three, 25-18, and put the match away with a 25-16 game four victory.
Senior outside hitter Anisa Lila recorded a team-high 10 kills and sophomore Marina Georgieva added nine kills. Freshman setter Kamalei Clifton, who started in place of injured setter Maria Kashavelova, added a career-high 31 assists and 11 digs.
The Terriers were also without the services of senior outside hitter Thalita Paladino, who injured her ankle in pre-game warm-ups. In addition, Georgieva went down with a leg injury in the third game and was unable to return to the match.
Kelly Scanlon had 15 kills and Lauren Noga added 14 for La Salle.
